Our building at 2820/22 East 17th Avenue is up and running with three exciting artist renting studio space and gallery space already as well as my own store-front at 2820. Artaos Gallery started out by focusing on some artists from New Mexica, many Native American artists which have not been shown in the Denver area.
September starting with Monday, September 14 is going to be a fun week of “Street Art” being created outside the building for viewers to safely watch as artists finish their “walls” of street art.
We will be there all week, so come by during the day to see what’s going on!
Some spaces in our building will remain rather “rough” as a part of the intriguing atmosphere the building houses. Each artist can create their own interesting work area as they see fit.
Next Gallery presents a solo exhibit of paintings and drawings through November 18
My solo exhibit at Next Gallery was a great success. I had a large attendence at the opening and sold some large and small pieces. The crowds reaction to the work was all positive. The only thing I regretted was the total lack of coverage by any of the media we contacted….the opposite experience to other exhibits where I have had coverage by several media outlets. This is the life of an artist!
Unfortunately after the end of November I will move on from Next Gallery to another project, that of using our building near City Park as an art studio and creative space. Wish us luck!
I will have booth this year at the wonderful Summer Art Market at the Art Student’s League neighborhood on South Grant Street. There will be lots of great art and fun… and a lot of it affordable!
I have some work in this “theme” show called “Green” It’s very interesting to see other artists’ interpretations!
I am fortunate to be attending FACE a conventiton for figurative artists being held for the second year. For a time figurative art took a back seat to contemporary, abstract popularity, but it is enjoying a resurgence.
Gallery hours are Fridays 6:00 to 10:00, Saturday and Sunday 12:00 to 5:00
